Clipper Families and Community Members,
This is a call for nominations for our School Advisory Council for Cunard Junior High School. We have several positions available for our School Advisory Council this year, 2 parent/guardian representatives and 2 community members. If you are interested in being a part of this or know someone that may be, please reach out to us.
The commitment to this is a minimum of 4 zoom meetings a year. Additional meetings may be scheduled as determined by the Cunard Junior High School SAC. Meetings will be 60 minutes in length unless the SAC agrees by consensus to go longer.
SAC – School Advisory Council:
Provide all partners with a voice in decision making
Work collaboratively with the principal and the regional center: on developing policies that promote student achievement and safe and inclusive schools; schools practices and initiatives, communication among the school, parents and community; any matters that are referred to the school advisory council by the principal, the regional center or the Minister
Develop ways and strategies to improve and support the extra-curricular program and special projects in the school
Maintain effective communication with families by holding regular public meetings and making copies of
agendas and minutes available upon request
Advise the principal and staff on any matters that are referred to the school advisory council by the principal, the regional center, or the Minister
Determining priorities for spending the funds allocated to support the mandate of the school advisory council
Advise the EECD or the Provincial Advisory Council on policy and other education matters
Prepare an annual report in the form and contain the information determined by the Minister
